Staff Supplier Industrialization Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Long Beach, California, United States; willingness to travel up to 50% of the work week when needed

What you will do

• Serve as the technical point of contact for rocket parts and assemblies, resolving manufacturing and quality issues.
• Lead new product introduction by selecting manufacturing methods, identifying suppliers, and developing scalable production processes.
• Conduct design for manufacturing reviews and apply APQP, PPAP, FAIR, and 8D problem-solving practices.
• Manage supplier sourcing and evaluations, corrective actions, and compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and NASA quality standards.
• Create specifications that communicate quality and manufacturing requirements across the supply base.
• Analyze defect data, lead root-cause investigations, and improve supplier performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality, or a related STEM field.
• 10+ years of experience in supplier quality or supplier development engineering.
• In-depth knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, and NASA quality standards, plus ERP/MRP systems experience.
• Technical experience with manufacturing space-quality hardware, including forming, cutting, machining, and assembly of stainless and carbon steels.
• Experience with PPAP, APQP, FAIRs, new product development, and 8D methodology.
• Ability to define and own processes from scratch and roll them out to diverse teams; willingness to travel up to 50% when needed.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with high-volume inspection and data-driven acceptance methods.
• Knowledge of PLM, ERP, and MES applications.
• Proficiency in data analysis.
