Senior Compliance Officer (Corporate Functions Compliance)

Location: Toronto, ON, at Toronto-81 Bay, 31st Floor; hybrid work with 2–3 days per week on-site

What you will do

• Serve as the primary Oversight Function Lead for Corporate Function Compliance and support the RCM Accountable Officer.
• Monitor regulatory developments, assess their impact, and communicate actionable guidance to business units and RCM Portfolio Managers.
• Conduct risk assessments, evaluate new initiatives, advise on compliance measures, and coordinate remediation of deficiencies.
• Provide advisory support on Enterprise Risk Management, Model Quantification, Credit Risk, Legal, Data Governance, Whistleblower, ESG, and Marketing requirements.
• Prepare RCM reports and metrics, maintain compliance documentation, and assess control effectiveness.
• Lead process improvements, guide business units in executing the RCM Program, and promote operational excellence.

Requirements

• Certified professional with a university degree and 5–10 years of progressively responsible business experience.
• Expertise in reviewing complex legal and regulatory documentation, monitoring regulatory changes, and implementing controls, policies, and procedures.
• Deep understanding of risk assessment methodologies, control frameworks, and regulatory environments applicable to financial institutions.
• Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to build effective internal and external stakeholder relationships.
• Advanced problem-solving, judgment, critical thinking, prioritization, and independent project-management skills.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and hold a valid work or study permit where applicable.
