Senior IT Network Engineer

Location: On-site in Syracuse, New York, United States; occasional travel to domestic and international JMA sites.

Salary: $90,000–$120,000 per year.

What you will do

• Own and maintain enterprise LAN, wireless, WAN, SD-WAN, firewall, data center, storage, and secure remote-access infrastructure.
• Configure routing, switching, IPsec tunnels, network segmentation, and security controls across distributed sites.
• Operate Cisco Meraki and Fortinet FortiGate environments, including firewall policies, security profiles, high availability, SD-WAN, and firmware lifecycle management.
• Troubleshoot network issues, improve performance, and plan migrations between next-generation firewall platforms with minimal disruption.
• Discover, document, and integrate acquired entities, manufacturing networks, 5G labs, product test environments, and network operations infrastructure.
• Create auditable network documentation and compliance evidence aligned with CMMC, NIST 800-171, and SOC 2.

Requirements

• 7+ years of enterprise networking experience, including at least 3 years at a senior or lead level in a multi-site environment.
• Expertise in routing and switching, secure network design, SD-WAN, IPsec, network segmentation, monitoring, logging, packet capture, and structured troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco Meraki MX, MS, and MR products and Fortinet FortiGate/FortiOS, including policy design, security profiles, IPsec, SD-WAN, HA, and firmware management.
• Experience with data center and virtualization networking, VMware host networking, iSCSI or SAN connectivity, enterprise wireless design, RF optimization, PKI, certificates, VPN, and 802.1X.
• Understanding of CMMC, NIST 800-171, SOC 2, and network security standards, with the ability to independently implement controls and produce detailed compliance documentation.
• Fluent written and spoken English and willingness to work on-site in Syracuse, NY are required.

Nice to have

• Fortinet NSE 4+, FCP, FCSS, CCNP Enterprise, CCIE, Meraki CMNA, ECMS, PCNSE, CISSP, or CMMC-related certifications.
• Manufacturing or OT networking experience and familiarity with IEC 62443 or Purdue model concepts.
• Experience integrating acquired companies and consolidating domains, addressing schemes, and network platforms.
• Network automation with Python, Ansible, Terraform, REST APIs, or the Meraki Dashboard API.
• Azure networking, hosted or colocation infrastructure, IaaS connectivity, ITIL, ISO 27001, or active SOC 2/CMMC certification experience.
