Senior IT Network Engineer II

Location: Onsite at the Long Beach, California facility, United States. The role supports related sites across the USA and may require occasional travel.

Base salary: $115,000–$140,000 USD annually, plus potential equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Design, implement, operate, and support networks and firewalls for Corporate IT, Launch, and Space Systems operations.
• Provide subject matter expertise for reliable and highly available network infrastructure supporting space systems.
• Lead network upgrades, maintenance, continuous improvement, and infrastructure deployment projects.
• Establish WAN and LAN networking standards with other Network Engineers.
• Implement infrastructure standards covering cybersecurity compliance, automation, high availability, disaster recovery, documentation, reporting, and cost control.
• Support satellite networks, telemetry servers, mission control room infrastructure, remote operators, on-orbit operations, and customer connectivity.

Requirements

• 8+ years of IT experience and a bachelor's degree, or 12+ years of equivalent work experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in a network-focused technology role.
• In-depth experience configuring and managing Fortinet, Juniper, or Cisco switching and firewall environments.
• Expert knowledge of WAN, SD-WAN, routing, IPSEC, SSL VPNs, and firewalls.
• For U.S. office work, candidates must meet applicable ITAR requirements, including U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, refugee or asylee status, or eligibility to obtain the required authorizations.

Nice to have

• CISM or specialist qualifications in AWS, Azure, Microsoft, or a related area.
• Experience with AWS, Microsoft 365, and Azure enterprise environments.
• Experience with Kubernetes, VMware, Linux, Windows, configuration management, automation, or Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience with server and storage hardware, backups, high availability, disaster recovery, business continuity, Active Directory, Group Policy, PKI, DNS, or DHCP.
• Knowledge of ISO 27001, NIST 800-171, or related security frameworks.
