Senior Network Engineer (Fortinet/Azure)

Location: Teal Drones, SLC, UT 84115, United States. Must qualify as a U.S. Person under applicable U.S. export-control laws and regulations.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, VPN, Internet-edge, and Azure cloud network services.
• Configure and optimize switching, VLANs, routing, wireless networks, resilient uplinks, and ISP failover.
• Administer Fortinet firewalls, Cisco Meraki switching and wireless infrastructure, and Zscaler secure connectivity.
• Serve as the senior escalation point for complex network, firewall, wireless, VPN, DNS, DHCP, and cloud-connectivity incidents.
• Plan and execute network upgrades, hardware refreshes, migrations, maintenance, and cutovers with testing and rollback procedures.
• Lead technical design reviews, coordinate vendors and carriers, mentor technical staff, and improve resilience, standardization, and automation.

Requirements

• U.S. Person status is required under applicable U.S. export-control laws and regulations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent education, certifications, and experience.
• At least 8 years of progressive enterprise network engineering experience, including at least 3 years in a senior, lead, or Tier 3 role.
• Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP, subnetting, routing, switching, VLANs, STP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VPNs, and network segmentation.
• Hands-on experience with Fortinet, Cisco Meraki, enterprise Wi-Fi, RF troubleshooting, 802.1X, Azure hybrid connectivity, site-to-site VPNs, and Zscaler or a comparable SASE or zero-trust platform.
• Experience diagnosing complex network issues, maintaining technical documentation, leading network projects, managing critical incidents, and communicating with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Cisco CCNP, Cisco Meraki, Fortinet, Zscaler, or Microsoft Azure networking certification.
• Advanced Azure or AWS networking experience, including ExpressRoute, Virtual WAN, Transit Gateway, or Direct Connect.
• Experience with Microsoft GCC High, Microsoft Commercial, CMMC, NIST SP 800-171, or ITAR-governed environments.
• Familiarity with Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, RADIUS, Microsoft NPS, Cisco ISE, certificate-based authentication, and network access control.
• Experience automating network administration with Python, PowerShell, or APIs and using monitoring or IP address management platforms.
