Wind Technician

Location: Otho, Iowa, United States; onsite at a home wind farm site with support for other Iowa sites as needed. Travel may reach 25% during the first year for training and 10% in subsequent years for business needs.

What you will do

• Service and maintain wind turbines.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot turbine errors and escalate technical issues to engineering functions.
• Provide customer service and support other wind farm sites across Iowa.
• Help develop improved field procedures and best practices.
• Work safely inside wind turbine enclosures at approximately 300 feet, including confined spaces and challenging weather conditions.
• Take on additional technical and operational responsibilities at an operating wind farm.

Requirements

• Entry-level or graduate candidates with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States is required; employer-sponsored work authorization is not available now or in the future.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces, climb ladders, stand for long periods, and perform physically demanding tasks; body weight must be 265 pounds or less.
• Ability to work safely in a team, think quickly, stay composed in hazardous situations, and communicate effectively with customers.
• Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook and Excel; candidates must pass a physical examination.
