Traveling Service Technician (Wind Turbines)

Location: United States; 100% travel to project sites across the United States and Canada, with possible extended assignments at one location.

Salary: $29.00–$32.00 USD per hour, plus up to a 5% bonus.

What you will do

• Perform maintenance, inspections, retrofits, troubleshooting, and major corrective repairs on wind turbines.
• Replace large turbine components, including complete gearboxes.
• Diagnose, analyze, and resolve wind turbine issues using specialized tools and equipment.
• Identify hazards, use required protective equipment, and follow safety procedures for medium- and high-voltage work.
• Follow service schedules and instructions while maintaining accurate administrative records and reports.
• Build effective working relationships with customers, subcontractors, peers, and management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; a two-year degree in wind turbine technology or a similar field is strongly preferred.
• 2–5 years of field service experience involving wind turbine maintenance, troubleshooting, inspections, component exchanges, or repairs is preferred.
• Experience with power tools and the ability to read drawings, schematics, instructions, and schedules.
• Ability to obtain certifications for medium- and high-voltage equipment and maintain rigger/signal person and crane calling certifications.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
• Full valid U.S. driver’s license, ability to obtain a U.S. passport, and readiness for 100% domestic and international travel, overtime, and variable schedules.

Nice to have

• Two-year degree in wind turbine technology or a related field.
• Prior experience with large component exchanges and gearbox replacements.
