Senior Generator Engineer

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom; customer site visits and onsite outage support required

What you will do

• Provide technical support for Siemens generators and auxiliary products.
• Author technical reports, work scopes, and test procedures for new products and existing operations.
• Collaborate with internal customers and the global engineering network to develop solutions and share knowledge.
• Prepare for outages, deliver customer presentations, and provide onsite technical support.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues during outages and ensure timely fault resolution.

Requirements

• University degree in engineering with an electrical bias.
• Practical engineering knowledge and willingness to learn Siemens product ranges.
• Familiarity with power plant equipment and operations, especially large turbo-generators and auxiliary systems.
• Experience using ERP systems to locate drawings, bills of materials, and procedures.
• Strong communication, customer focus, problem-solving skills, and a proactive mindset.

Nice to have

• Power generation experience.
• Knowledge of control and instrumentation, hydrogen systems, and ATEX requirements.
