Staff Electrical Engineer - Grid Power

Salary: $200,000–$235,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Develop connection specifications between company power systems and medium-voltage utility grids.
• Lead utility interconnection, medium-voltage AC collection, high-current rectifier DC bussing, and microgrid integration design.
• Review third-party EPC electrical designs and perform internal engineering and installation design.
• Conduct load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, arc flash, harmonic load flow, frequency scan, and transient stability analyses.
• Select electrical equipment, analyze operating data, and optimize system performance and reliability.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with external partners, utilities, and cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of professional experience with electrical power systems and large industrial systems in EPC environments.
• Experience with utility interconnection, medium-voltage distribution, substation design, SCADA, and power system protection.
• Field experience with microgrids, energy storage, power generation assets, renewable energy facilities, and utility distribution systems.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Ability to independently execute complex analyses, lead projects, and use power system modeling and simulation software.
