Senior Java Backend Developer

Location: Hybrid in the Netherlands, North Holland

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build and maintain microservices architectures and RESTful APIs for high-volume traffic.
• Develop cloud-native applications using AWS services and best practices.
• Design and optimize NoSQL database solutions, particularly DynamoDB.
• Debug complex issues, tune performance, and improve efficiency across distributed environments.
• Implement monitoring and observability solutions with Grafana and collaborate with product, QA, and DevOps teams.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional Java backend development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java 8/11/17+, object-oriented programming, and design patterns.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and microservices architecture.
• Experience designing REST APIs with error handling and validation.
• Experience with AWS, DynamoDB, NoSQL databases, Git, and large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of scalability, resiliency, performance optimization, debugging, and observability with tools such as Grafana.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kubernetes.
