Senior Java/Kotlin Developer (AI)

Location: Paris, hybrid. Remote work is available from France, Germany, Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands, or the UK, where hirify.global has a physical office and legal entity.

What you will do

• Partner with Product Managers and Designers to translate user needs into technical solutions.
• Own features end to end, from initial design through release and ongoing improvement.
• Build and maintain backend services, APIs, complex data models, and scalable architectures.
• Drive architectural decisions using patterns such as Hexagonal Architecture.
• Balance delivery speed, quality, and business impact while supporting frequent production releases.
• Use AI coding assistants for development, refactoring, documentation, testing, and migrations while maintaining human oversight.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software development experience, including an initial role in a product company.
• Deep proficiency in Java or Kotlin and experience with complex backend architectures, APIs, and data models.
• Experience with full lifecycle ownership, including CI/CD, testing, observability, monitoring, and performance.
• Ability to make pragmatic architectural decisions and balance scalability with rapid iteration.
• Fluent English and confidence working in an English-speaking environment.

Hiring process

• 45-minute screening with Talent Acquisition.
• 75-minute interview with an Engineering Manager.
• 90-minute technical assignment, either a home case or live case, followed by a 45-minute final interview with the VP Engineering.
