Cloud Infrastructure Systems Engineer I (AWS)

Location: Hybrid position based in Sterling, Virginia, with periodic onsite work at the hirify.global location.

Salary: $55,000–$106,000 per year, depending on qualifications, experience, and expertise.

What you will do

• Assist with selecting, testing, integrating, and maintaining commercial and government cloud-native applications.
• Integrate applications with customer standards for authentication, authorization, vulnerability scanning, and remediation.
• Review and recommend cloud-native solutions using cloud provider services and AI capabilities for cybersecurity and development challenges.
• Maintain strict separation between development, test, production, customer, contractor, and personal environments.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, pair programming, and collaboration with product management, QA, and engineering teams.
• Contribute to technical documentation and user guides.

Requirements

• Active Secret clearance required; TS/SCI preferred.
• Currently pursuing or holding a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Less than two years of relevant experience.
• Programming experience in at least one language such as Java, Python, C++, or JavaScript.
• Understanding of cloud development environments, software development principles, data structures, and Git.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Nice to have

• AWS experience; Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform knowledge.
• Understanding of system integration, configuration management tools, software development methodologies, and quality standards.
• Certifications such as AWS Certified Developer, AWS Cloud Practitioner, AWS AI Practitioner, AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Fundamentals, or GitHub/GitLab certifications.
