Systems Engineer II (Cybersecurity)

Location: USA - Remote; US Citizen or Green Card holder required. The role also requires 2–3 business-related trips per year for group meetings and periodic additional background and fingerprint checks for government customer requirements.

Salary: $100,000–$145,000 per year, plus eligibility for bonuses and equity grants.

What you will do

• Engineer and maintain solutions for production systems environments.
• Understand complex technical architectures and recommend improvements.
• Administer Linux across thousands of bare metal servers and virtual machines.
• Troubleshoot server hardware and support large-scale production deployments in internal data centers.
• Write scripts and programs for automation, tools, frameworks, dashboards, and alarms.
• Participate in an on-call rotation with other team members.

Requirements

• US citizenship or a Green Card.
• 3+ years of engineering experience, preferably in a production role.
• Experience with bare metal orchestration, virtualization, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and configuration management.
• Linux engineering and administration experience at large scale.
• Experience working on small- to large-scale projects and writing technical documentation.
• Proven use of AI technologies to improve decision-making, workflows, efficiency, and business outcomes.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of DNS, HTTP, SMTP, SNMP, and the OSI model.
• Experience with Ubuntu, Red Hat, TrueNAS, Docker, Prometheus, Grafana, and Zabbix.
• Knowledge of threat intelligence and mobile technology.
