Senior IT Operations Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid, based out of the Boston, Massachusetts office; some flexibility outside East Coast hours is helpful.

Salary: $150,000–$190,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Own and maintain core internal systems, including JAMF, Okta, Slack, Jira, and Google Workspace.
• Build automations and self-service workflows in Okta Workflows or from scratch to eliminate recurring helpdesk requests.
• Write Python and Bash integrations connecting SaaS tools through webhooks, REST APIs, and event hooks.
• Analyze helpdesk data, identify recurring issues, and address root causes through system, workflow, and documentation improvements.
• Partner with Security on secure-by-default tooling and support cross-functional IT projects from intake through rollout.
• Provide responsive first-touch support and improve employee lifecycle experiences with the People team.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience running and configuring IT or cloud infrastructure at a growing company.
• 2+ years of hands-on automation experience with Workato, Okta Workflows, Python, Bash, or similar tools.
• Practical fluency with modern AI tools, including using them to deliver scripts, log analysis, documentation, and other operational work.
• Experience with JAMF packaging and deployment, Okta SSO, Slack, Jira, and Google Workspace.
• 2+ years of operational experience with GCP, Snowflake, and/or AWS.
• Experience automating employee joiner, mover, and leaver processes, including HRIS integrations; strong API, root-cause analysis, security partnership, and customer-support skills.

Nice to have

• Experience at a cloud-native or developer-tooling company.
• AV and meeting-room technology experience.
• Practical familiarity with SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar frameworks.
• Familiarity with UKG or other HRIS platforms.
• Examples of AI agents or automations that eliminated recurring operational work.
