Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Aerospace/Defense)

What you will do

• Conceptualize, design, and document electronics packaging assemblies and mechanical components.
• Design and analyze complex mechanical and electromechanical systems, equipment, and packaging.
• Conduct feasibility studies, trade studies, market surveys, testing, prototyping, and product verification.
• Collaborate with engineering, program, operations, vendors, and customers to facilitate design and component delivery.
• Prepare and present materials for Preliminary and Critical Design Reviews and other customer-facing meetings.
• Generate deliverable documentation and provide design information for packaging documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
• At least 7 years of experience in aerospace, defense, or a similarly regulated industry, including at least 5 years in electronics packaging.
• Experience with MCAD software; SolidWorks is preferred.
• Experience with CCA design and manufacturing, engineering analysis and hand calculations, including thermal and structural analysis.
• Experience leading mechanical engineering work on a program, managing schedules and budgets, and interfacing with IPT teams, program management, and customers.
• Experience with non-conformance disposition, customer requirements, production-program gating processes, and configuration control of engineering drawings and BOMs using PDM/PLM.

Nice to have

• Experience with ECAD software, especially Altium.
• Experience with cable modeling and documentation, DFM/DFA, hands-on troubleshooting, and rapid prototyping such as 3D printing.
• EV training experience.
