What you will do

• Lead mechanical integration of electronics, enclosures, and launchers into ground and sea-mobile platforms.
• Architect and design structures and mechanisms subject to extreme shock, vibration, and thermal constraints.
• Develop 3D CAD models and Interface Control Documents (ICDs) for multi-disciplinary system integration.
• Perform first-order structural and thermal analyses to ensure compliance with military standards.
• Manage system-level integration, qualification, and acceptance activities, including installation and fit-checks.
• Coordinate technical resolutions between mechanical, electrical, RF, and power engineering teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 11+ years of experience in platform-level mechanical design for aerospace and defense applications.
• Strong proficiency with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks) for large assemblies and top-down design.
• Expertise in ruggedized military hardware and MIL-STD-810 environmental qualification.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience with actuation systems, gimbals, rotary joints, or hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
• Proficiency in commercial FEA or multiphysics simulation packages (NASTRAN, ANSYS, ABAQUS).
• Knowledge of additive manufacturing, CNC machining, and producibility constraints.
