MEP Project Engineer (Building Systems)

Location: Columbus, Ohio; hybrid workplace

What you will do

• Lead the planning and production of MEP systems for commercial and institutional facilities using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Own the technical content of building systems designs and manage projects from concept through construction.
• Perform engineering calculations for HVAC, ventilation, electrical, plumbing, sanitary, and water supply systems.
• Coordinate designs with architecture, structural, civil, landscape, and interior design disciplines.
• Manage and mentor junior engineers and technicians developing construction documents and technical specifications.
• Support technical decisions, code compliance, cross-training, and continued professional development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated experience in MEP engineering.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, energy modeling, power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and fire suppression design.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, HVAC load calculations, energy modeling, daylight analysis tools, and Excel-based calculation tools.
• Familiarity with ICC, NEC, and NFPA codes and LEED building standards.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
