Staff Propulsion Engineer, Engine Assembly Design (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Own the layout and packaging of Aeon-R engines across development, qualification, acceptance, first-stage, and upper-stage configurations.
• Design and analyze final integration hardware, including secondary structures, fluid manifolds, tubing, and custom fittings.
• Lead conceptual design and layouts for new or upgraded engine configurations.
• Own and release top-level CAD models and track engine mass projections.
• Maintain the Aeon-R Interface Control Diagram in collaboration with vehicle and test-stand partners.
• Drive configuration and change management while partnering with Engine Integration engineers to build and ship engines at increasing rates.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, technology, mathematics, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in fluid systems design and/or structural design.
• Experience applying fluid, thermal, structural, and mechanical design fundamentals.
• Experience with computer-aided design software and large assembly CAD ownership.
• Demonstrated technical or project leadership, organization, follow-through, and delivery against ambitious schedules.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers in design, layout trade studies, change management, and impact analysis.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of engine subsystems such as combustion devices, turbomachinery, valves, and integration hardware.
• Experience designing liquid propulsion components and systems.
• Experience with Siemens NX, Teamcenter, and ANSYS Workbench.
• Familiarity with aerospace standards and practices, including AS, NAS, and SAE.
