Associate, Technology & Innovation Investment Banking (Technology)

Location: On-site full-time in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Candidates must be legally eligible to work at the specified location and, where applicable, hold a valid work or study permit.

Salary: $135,000 annualized base salary, plus participation in an annual discretionary incentive or bonus program.

What you will do

• Execute investment banking transactions and financing mandates for technology and technology-enabled clients.
• Support IPOs, strategic mergers and acquisitions, growth financings, and public follow-on financings.
• Conduct industry research, financial analysis, comparable company valuations, and precedent transaction analyses.
• Develop and audit sophisticated financial models, client proposals, and pitchbooks.
• Assist with company due diligence and prepare client recommendations.
• Build relationships with clients, internal product groups, business partners, and market stakeholders while mentoring Analysts.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in corporate finance, investment banking, private equity, project financing, or investment review, including meaningful financial modeling and analysis.
• Strong knowledge of valuation techniques, cash flow and returns analysis, accounting principles, financial statements, and business combinations.
• Strong quantitative skills and working knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent analytical, communication, relationship-building, prioritization, and multitasking skills, with sound independent judgment and professional ethics.
• Legal eligibility to work in Canada at the specified Toronto location is required.

Nice to have

• CA or CFA completion.
• MBA or Master’s in Finance.
• Knowledge of software, AI, technology services, hardware, quantum computing, or other technology sectors.
