Associate, Digital Infrastructure Focus, Global Investment Banking (Digital Infrastructure)

Location: New York, NY — onsite at 300 Madison Ave

Salary: $175,000–$225,000 annually for the New York market, based on experience, qualifications, and position location. Additional incentive compensation may apply.

What you will do

• Execute M&A, strategic advisory, capital structure advisory, debt and equity financings, and tax equity transactions.
• Build, develop, and audit sophisticated financial models and perform valuation, cash flow, returns, industry, and transaction precedent analyses.
• Prepare client proposals, pitches, recommendations, and transaction materials while overseeing Analyst work.
• Conduct company and industry research, due diligence, and analysis of digital infrastructure, power, utilities, renewables, infrastructure, and energy sectors.
• Collaborate with CIBC Capital Markets product groups and global offices to execute mandates and identify transaction opportunities.
• Develop client and market relationships while supporting, training, and mentoring Analysts.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, mathematics, computer science, or economics.
• 3–4 years of experience in investment banking, corporate finance, or private equity, including meaningful financial modeling and analysis.
• Working knowledge of digital infrastructure, power, renewables, utilities, infrastructure, midstream, or energy transition sectors.
• Strong knowledge of valuation techniques, cash flow and returns analysis, accounting principles, and business combinations.
• Strong proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and financial market platforms such as CapitalIQ, Refinitiv, FactSet, or Bloomberg.
• Must be legally eligible to work in the United States at the specified location and hold a valid work or study permit where applicable. Strong communication, relationship-building, judgment, professionalism, and ethics are required.

Nice to have

• Direct digital infrastructure investment banking, investing, or project finance experience.
• CA or CFA completion.
• MBA or Master’s in Finance.
