TL;DR
Senior Mechanisms Technician, First Shift (Aerospace): Building and testing Terran R mechanism assemblies and complex electro-mechanical systems with an accent on precision assembly, wiring, harnessing, and flight hardware quality. Focus on troubleshooting electrical-mechanical assemblies, using calibrated inspection equipment, and executing first-shift manufacturing operations across a 50-hour workweek.

Location: Long Beach, California, United States; onsite, first shift, Monday through Friday, 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. PT

Salary: $33.20–$49.80 USD per hour; 50-hour workweek with 10 guaranteed overtime hours weekly

hirify.global develops launch vehicles, including the Terran R rocket, and the manufacturing systems required to produce them at scale.

What you will do

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to build the first Terran R mechanism assemblies.
  • Follow precise work instructions and complete mechanism build operations.
  • Assemble and test complex electro-mechanical assemblies using hand tools and test equipment.
  • Perform wiring, harnessing, avionics-related assembly, and system testing.
  • Work with technician teams to execute daily manufacturing operations.
  • Troubleshoot electrical-mechanical assemblies and support continuous process improvement.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of aerospace mechanical experience or experience in a related field.
  • Experience working with flight hardware in fast-paced environments.
  • Proficiency with calibrated tools, including torque wrenches and precision inspection equipment.
  • Experience with wiring, harnessing, avionics, and building and testing electro-mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of relevant aerospace industry standards and specifications, with strong attention to detail and product quality.
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical-mechanical assemblies.

Nice to have

  • Experience with high- and low-voltage electrical testing.
  • Airframe and Powerplant license.
