TL;DR
Manufacturing Technician, Mechanical Assemblies (Second Shift) (Aerospace Manufacturing): Building and assembling flight hardware for Haven-1 and future space stations with an accent on precision drilling, fastening, bonding, and calibrated measurement. Focus on interpreting technical drawings, following detailed work instructions, and producing high-reliability mechanical subassemblies safely and on schedule.

Location: Onsite in Long Beach, California, United States. Second shift: 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Must be willing to work other shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed. Travel may be required to Mojave, Ohio, and Florida for vehicle testing and integration. U.S. export-control eligibility is required: the hire must be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing.

Salary: $21.33–$50 USD per hour.

What you will do

  • Manufacture and assemble flight hardware for structural and thermal control system subassemblies.
  • Perform drilling, fastening, bonding, and related manufacturing processes.
  • Use calibrated precision tools, including torque wrenches, micrometers, and calipers.
  • Complete work according to procedures, specifications, and test instructions.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineering and quality personnel to develop and document work instructions.
  • Deliver production work safely, professionally, and on schedule.

Requirements

  • Experience with NPI (New Product Introduction/Development).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and follow detailed work instructions.
  • Precision drilling experience to ±0.001 inch.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with engineering and production teams.
  • Ability to lift at least 25 lb unassisted, climb ladders, and work in tight spaces.
  • U.S. export-control eligibility is required.

Nice to have

  • High school diploma, equivalency certificate, or equivalent work experience.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant license.
  • Experience in aerospace, aviation, military, medical-device, or other high-reliability environments.
  • Cleanroom, precision-measuring-instrument, forklift, crane, or heavy-equipment experience.
