TL;DR
Integration Technician (Aerospace): Assembling, installing, and testing flight hardware for artificial-gravity human-rated space stations with an accent on precision tooling, technical drawings, and high-pressure pneumatic testing. Focus on integrating fragile mechanical and aerospace assemblies, documenting test activities, and maintaining ESD and high-reliability quality standards.

Location: Onsite in Long Beach, California, United States. Second shift: 2:00 p.m.–10:30 p.m. Extended travel may be required for vehicle testing and integration at remote sites in Mojave, Ohio, and Florida. The role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information; candidates must be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing.

Salary: $23–$57 per hour in California.

What you will do

  • Assemble, install, and test flight hardware according to procedures, specifications, and test instructions.
  • Read technical drawings and detailed work instructions to execute integration operations.
  • Use calibrated precision tools, mechanical hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
  • Perform careful hands-on work with large and fragile assemblies, including high-pressure pneumatic testing.
  • Collaborate with production engineers and quality personnel to develop, execute, and document integration activities.
  • Complete work safely, on schedule, and in compliance with ESD and quality standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • 6+ years of experience in hardware assembly, testing, and/or installation.
  • Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted and work on ladders and in confined spaces.
  • Willingness to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed.
  • Must be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing for access to U.S. export-controlled information.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with engineering and production personnel and work in a dynamic environment.

Nice to have

  • Aerospace, aviation, military, or other high-reliability operating environment experience.
  • Experience with propulsion systems, avionics components, harnesses, flight hardware, cleanrooms, forklifts, cranes, or heavy equipment.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant license.
  • NASA-STD-8739.3, NASA-STD-8739.4, IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-620, or IPC-J-STD-001 certifications.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, Google Workspace, precision measuring instruments, and technical documentation.
