Hardware Engineer (Instrumentation)

A next-generation defense prime building autonomous and scalable defense systems for allied forces.

What you will do

• Design mixed-signal, power, RF instrumentation, breakout, interface, and DAQ boards.
• Create PCB layouts and routing with attention to signal integrity, measurement accuracy, EMC, controlled impedance, and RF traces.
• Design reliable, reconfigurable interfaces for devices under development, including breakouts, interposers, connectors, and signal-access boards.
• Select components and instruments, prepare BOMs, and decide between commercial instruments and in-house boards for low-volume, high-mix tooling.
• Lead fixture bring-up and bench debugging using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, and other bench equipment.
• Define hardware/software interfaces and collaborate with tooling software, mechanical, and product engineering teams on integration, calibration, documentation, and validation.

Requirements

• Experience designing PCB schematics and layouts; Altium Designer is preferred.
• Experience with mixed-signal design, including power, MCU interfaces, and SPI, I2C, UART, USB, and CAN buses.
• Experience designing instrumentation, DAQ, breakout, signal-conditioning, or measurement front-end electronics.
• Experience with hardware bring-up, bench debugging, measurement integrity, and calibration.
• Ability to select components and create BOMs for low-volume, high-mix tooling.
• Ability to work on-site in Paris, France.

• Experience with RF, controlled impedance, and EMC.
