Staff Software Engineer, Restaurant Experience (React)

Location: Boston, MA, with remote-hybrid work from the Boston office, from home, or a mixture of both.

Salary: $184,000–$232,000 annual target cash compensation, including base salary and bonus target.

What you will do

• Lead the technical vision for the restaurant partner experience, including onboarding, menu management, order fulfillment, and marketing tools.
• Own the architectural direction of frontend systems for the partner portal and order management tooling.
• Champion AI-native frontend development, including design-to-code workflows, AI-assisted development, and machine-readable interfaces.
• Define frontend standards with the Front End Core team across micro-frontend composition, monorepo structure, design systems, and CI/CD.
• Establish architecture for embedded business intelligence, reporting, data visualization, and data-dense interfaces.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Research, Principal Engineers, and Staff Engineers while mentoring teammates and shaping technology roadmaps.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software development experience and 4+ years of production React experience.
• Deep expertise in React, Next.js App Router, and TypeScript across complex production frontend systems.
• Working knowledge of micro-frontend architecture, such as Islands architecture, module federation, or edge-side composition.
• Experience standardizing frontend architecture, design systems, monorepo tooling, and micro-frontend boundaries at scale.
• Experience building dashboards, reporting interfaces, and data visualizations that make complex information accessible to non-technical users.

• Experience with B2B or partner-facing SaaS products.
• Experience with REST, GraphQL, Turborepo, or equivalent monorepo tooling.
• Familiarity with Go, embedded analytics, charting libraries, Datadog, or Sentry.
• Experience developing documented design systems and component libraries that support AI-assisted code generation.
