Architect, Software Development - UI (React)

Location: Hybrid in San Jose, California, USA, with office attendance 3 days per week

Salary: $217,000–$310,000 USD per year base pay, excluding bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead engineering efforts for reusable UI components and design-system libraries using React and TypeScript.
• Define the vision and roadmap for the UI component library with designers, product managers, and software engineers.
• Architect scalable UI component frameworks and libraries with a next-generation build system.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and promote engineering best practices and code quality.
• Improve the performance, accessibility, and usability of design-system components.

Requirements

• 8–12+ years of professional front-end and UI engineering experience, with extensive React experience and experience coaching junior engineers.
• Deep knowledge of JavaScript, CSS positioning and box-model algorithms, Semantic HTML, and data visualization libraries such as D3.
• Strong understanding of front-end build tools, package managers, monorepos, and version control, including Nx, npm, and Git.
• Foundational understanding of AI/ML technologies and experience leveraging, securing, or positioning AI-driven solutions.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI-powered development tools or intelligent UI component frameworks incorporating generative AI.
• Expertise in advanced performance optimization, layered-cake component composition, and test automation.
• Leadership and communication experience explaining complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
