Senior Manufacturing Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Christchurch, Dorset, United Kingdom; hybrid working available.

What you will do

• Support the introduction of new products into production and collaborate with Engineering on DFM, testability, and manufacturability.
• Develop manufacturing processes, build guides, production methods, and tooling.
• Design and produce assembly jigs and fixtures and lay out manufacturing cells with tooling and services.
• Improve current production processes, investigate manufacturing and quality problems, and prevent recurring faults.
• Update build guides following process improvements and Engineering changes and assist with factory layout moves.
• Ensure production equipment is available, operational, and safe to use.

Requirements

• HNC or degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electronics, or another relevant engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in a similar role within a medium- or high-volume electro-mechanical manufacturing environment; less experience or another industry may be considered.
• Awareness of modern manufacturing philosophies and techniques, including lean tools such as 5S and continuous improvement.
• Computer literacy, including MS Word, MS Excel, and SolidWorks.
• Basic knowledge of material processing, pneumatics, and hydraulics; hands-on experience is preferred.
• Strong organization, communication, teamwork, and composure under pressure.
