Senior Database Engineer (MySQL/PostgreSQL)

What you will do

• Operate and improve MySQL, PostgreSQL, and vector database platforms supporting user-facing and production systems.
• Develop database lifecycle platformization, reusable self-service APIs, and infrastructure automation for agentic workflows.
• Improve database reliability, observability, performance, scalability, and capacity planning in partnership with application engineering teams.
• Provide schema migration reviews, query optimization, performance tuning, and database client and connection-pooling improvements.
• Build high-availability and business continuity/disaster recovery solutions capable of supporting hundreds of thousands of concurrent users.
• Participate in an on-call rotation and help reduce database-related production incidents.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of experience running MySQL or PostgreSQL databases in large environments.
• Infrastructure automation experience with Python programming.
• Knowledge of AWS or GCP cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with SQL and Linux.
• Knowledge of data modeling, data structure design, and stable and secure systems management practices.
• Experience with AI and agentic AI capabilities for automation and platform features.
