TL;DR
Database Engineer (PostgreSQL): Building and evolving the database foundation for an AI-powered recruiting platform with an accent on schema design, query optimization, and data classification. Focus on scaling production Postgres systems to support reporting and AI consumers through efficient indexing, partitioning, and SQL performance tuning.
Location: Must be based in LATAM or the Philippines. Work schedule: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM EST.

What you will do
- Extend and evolve the production PostgreSQL schema across recruiting and business operations.
- Build SQL views and derived tables to serve as standard interfaces for reporting and AI features.
- Optimize query performance through indexing, partitioning, and execution-plan analysis.
- Define and enforce PII, data-classification, and retention policies at the database level.
- Collaborate with Engineering and AI teams to support data ingestion and consumption.
- Manage schema migrations using Git-based workflows.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience with production PostgreSQL databases.
- Advanced SQL skills including window functions, CTEs, JSONB, and EXPLAIN analysis.
- Strong background in relational data modeling for OLTP and analytical use cases.
- Experience with Git-based schema-migration workflows like Flyway or sqitch.
- Basic proficiency in Python or similar scripting for data operations.
- English proficiency: B2+ required.
Nice to have
- Experience with Supabase (RLS, auth, Realtime).
- Knowledge of dbt or SQLMesh for versioning SQL transformations.
- Prior experience exposing datasets to AI/ML consumers.
