Lead Firmware Engineer (Webcam)

What you will do

• Define, document, and deliver firmware solutions for new webcam products, existing products, and innovation projects.
• Design, develop, debug, and test firmware for embedded Linux and RTOS platforms.
• Implement and extend support for USB, UVC, UAC, HID, SPI, I2C, UART, and MIPI interfaces.
• Create modular, reusable, testable firmware architectures and distinctive product features.
• Establish embedded software best practices, including code reviews, collaborative workflows, and contemporary development tools.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, technology office, embedded software, and chip provider teams.

Requirements

• Strong C and C++ programming skills.
• 8+ years of embedded software and firmware development experience, including work with video-product SoCs.
• Hands-on experience with the Linux kernel, RTOS, device drivers, and USB communication standards including UVC, UAC, and HID.
• Strong knowledge of USB, SPI, I2C, UART, and MIPI peripheral interfaces, plus embedded architecture, API design, and code reuse.
• Experience with Git and GitHub, debugging, troubleshooting, and collaborative development.
• Fluent written and spoken Chinese and English required; international travel is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with proprietary SDKs and custom firmware for advanced device capabilities.
• Python and Linux shell scripting for automation and testing.
• Knowledge of computational photography, image processing, or deep learning in embedded systems.
• Experience designing guardrails and verification workflows for AI coding agents in embedded C/C++ codebases.
