Senior ServiceNow Developer

Location: Chicago, United States

Salary: $150,000–$200,000 USD annual base salary, plus an annual discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Configure and customize the ServiceNow platform, including custom applications, forms, workflows, and UI enhancements.
• Develop and support company-specific functions, workflows, business rules, client scripts, and server-side scripts.
• Integrate ServiceNow with custom import solutions, external data sources, and other enterprise systems.
• Help mature the corporate-wide CMDB, improve data integrity, and support service catalog offerings and workflows.
• Support platform administration, upgrades, security monitoring, access controls, role management, auditing, and compliance.
• Collaborate with developers, system administrators, business analysts, and stakeholders while documenting configurations and development work.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 3–5 years of proven experience as a ServiceNow Developer.
• Hands-on experience with custom application development, Flow Designer, integrations, scripting, GlideRecord, scripted REST APIs, business rules, script includes, and server-side scripting.
• Experience with ServiceNow frontend methodologies including Employee Center, Workspaces, Mobile, and UI Builder.
• Proficiency with JavaScript, HTML/CSS, REST API, problem-solving, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of ITIL concepts and principles, with the ability to learn generative AI and other new technologies.

Nice to have

• Experience maturing CMDBs and integrating custom import solutions with external data sources.
• ServiceNow administration experience, including upgrades, instance health, and security monitoring.
• Experience or certifications in CSM, HAM, S2P, WSD, or Platform Analytics.
• Experience with ServiceNow AI products and integrations such as Now Assist, Build Agent, third-party AI tools, and MCP servers.
