TL;DR
Chief Engineer (Aerospace Actuation): Providing technical oversight and direction for aerospace actuation and flight control systems with an accent on hydromechanical and electromechanical actuation, motion control, safety-critical architecture, and aerospace certification. Focus on deriving and tracing requirements, leading reliability and root-cause analyses, developing technical proposals, and guiding NPI/IRAD projects.

Salary: $173,200–$225,000 per year plus bonus opportunity

hirify.global’s Actuation Division is a commercial and military aerospace business unit focused on designing, manufacturing, and servicing high-power motion control systems and components.

What you will do

  • Provide technical oversight and direction within the aerospace actuation group.
  • Serve as a technical expert for hydromechanical and electromechanical actuation systems, motion control systems, flight control actuation, power drive units, and high-lift systems.
  • Lead technical activities for bids, proposals, NPI, and IRAD projects.
  • Communicate with customers on technical topics, project progress, and issue resolution.
  • Evaluate, derive, decompose, trace, and verify system requirements.
  • Advise senior leadership on technology development and mentor technical talent.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, aerospace engineering, or an equivalent field.
  • 15–30 years of experience in aerospace actuation or flight controls.
  • Experience with mechanical design, geared actuation, motors and power electronics, embedded software, systems engineering, and safety-critical architecture.
  • Knowledge of aerospace certification, FAA/EASA compliance, and DAL-certified integrated systems.
  • Experience creating technical proposals and NRE estimates, performing FMEA/FMECA reliability analyses, and leading corrective-action initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver projects on time and within budget, establish technical governance, mentor engineers, and advise senior leadership.

  • Master’s degree in mechanical, electrical, aerospace engineering, or an equivalent field.
