Commercial Analyst (Fintech)

Location: Richmond, Melbourne VIC, Australia; hybrid ways of working; Melbourne based

What you will do

• Drive accurate budgets, forecasts, and long-range plans for the Financial Services Product & Technology portfolio.
• Own month-end close and reporting across operating and capital expenditure, including accruals and variance commentary.
• Manage capitalisation of software development costs, including capital expenditure and operating expenditure allocation and project tracking.
• Analyse cost drivers such as headcount, vendor spend, and software licences to identify trends and insights.
• Partner with and influence business stakeholders while identifying financial risks, opportunities, and process improvements.
• Improve reporting and analysis for management, executive leadership, and Board-level reporting, including ad hoc cost modelling and transaction support.

Requirements

• CPA or CA qualification and relevant tertiary qualifications.
• 4+ years of experience in a commercially focused or business partnering role.
• Advanced Excel, financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting skills.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong initiative, ownership, attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and commercial acumen.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to manage diverse stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Prior Big Four experience.
