TL;DR
Business Analyst (Financial Markets and Compliance): Translating client and business requirements into functional specifications, documentation, and improvements for detection solutions with an accent on regulatory accuracy, trade surveillance, and cross-functional delivery. Focus on reviewing detection models, managing scope and risks, and ensuring solutions meet client and compliance expectations.
Location: Sydney, Australia; hybrid work with at least 2 days per week in the office. Candidates must have full working rights in Australia and Australian citizenship or permanent residency.

What you will do
- Elicit, document, and manage business and system requirements across the development lifecycle.
- Work with engineering, design, operations, clients, and internal teams to create solution documentation.
- Review detection solutions for functional accuracy and alignment with regulatory requirements.
- Prepare functional specifications, user documentation, and supporting materials.
- Contribute to project planning, risk identification, scope management, and solution improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Finance, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in financial markets, capital markets, trading operations, or compliance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of compliance and regulatory environments in financial services.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with AI tools.
- Full working rights in Australia; Australian citizenship or permanent residency required.
Nice to have
- Experience using Jira for task tracking and project management.
- Experience using Confluence for documentation and collaboration.
- Previous trade surveillance experience in a compliance role.
