IS Technical Specialist (Backend Java Dev) (Java)

Location: Columbus, Ohio, United States; office-based

Salary: $70,000–$140,000 USD annual base compensation, plus eligibility for applicable incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and deliver Java-based REST API-driven microservices aligned with enterprise architecture.
• Analyze business and user requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Design and implement complex, mission-critical IT systems and assigned project deliverables.
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders in agile or waterfall environments.
• Provide technical support, troubleshoot software and hardware issues, and debug complex applications.
• Lead designated initiatives and mentor or support less experienced staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 5+ years of experience developing business or technical solutions with Java, WebSphere, REST APIs, Spring Boot, Fuse, GCP, Kafka, and JSON.
• 5+ years of experience with DevOps, CI/CD, container-based development, and cloud deployment architectures.
• Experience with microservices, Jenkins, Kubernetes, SQL, relational databases, and cloud-native GCP services.
• Strong analytical, organizational, decision-making, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• At least 3 years of experience leading development teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with fraud technology solutions and cross-business initiatives.
• Knowledge of agile practices including Scrum and Kanban.
• Experience with Oracle, MySQL, DB2, Bigtable, MongoDB, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, Cloud Run, and Terraform.
• Experience with JAX-RS, Swagger, JWT, Maven, API documentation and testing tools, and repository or code migration strategies.
