Software Development Manager (AI Shopping)

hirify.global is developing AI-powered shopping experiences through Alexa for Shopping and the Rufus conversational shopping assistant.

What you will do

• Manage a team of Software Development Engineers building scalable AI-powered systems and customer experiences for Rufus.
• Define tactical actions and strategic quarterly or annual plans to improve team efficiency and delivery.
• Provide technical leadership, vision, career guidance, mentoring, and coaching to engineering team members.
• Shape engineering culture, operational excellence, ownership, and software development best practices.
• Partner with engineering, science, design, product, and program management teams to define requirements, technical designs, and execution plans.
• Anticipate bottlenecks, manage escalations, make trade-offs, and align business needs with technical constraints.

Requirements

• Experience managing teams of Software Engineers delivering complex, scalable software systems to customers.
• Experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
• Experience delivering products in fast-paced, multidisciplinary, distributed-responsibility, and ambiguous environments.
• Knowledge of software and systems development practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, certification, and live-site operations.
• Experience leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services.
• Experience partnering with product and program management teams.

Nice to have

• Experience building products with large language models, generative AI, or agentic AI systems.
• Experience communicating technical designs, software features, and product strategy to users, technical teams, and senior leadership.
• Experience recruiting, hiring, mentoring, coaching, and managing Software Engineering teams.
