TL;DR
Technology Designer New Graduate (ICT Engineering): Designing and supporting the implementation of low-voltage technology systems for buildings, including structured cabling, audio/video, security, and wireless systems, with an accent on technical documentation, project coordination, and multidisciplinary delivery. Focus on analyzing low- to medium-complexity engineering tasks, developing practical solutions with senior engineers, and maintaining quality and safety standards.

Location: Naperville, Illinois or Chicago, Illinois; full-time in office. Travel of up to 50% may include local, domestic, and international business travel.

Salary: $71,000–$77,000 per year in Illinois.

What you will do

  • Assist with the design and analysis of structured cabling, audio/video, security, wireless, and other low-voltage ICT systems.
  • Create technical designs, specifications, calculations, and project documentation using engineering software and tools.
  • Support project planning, scheduling, budget monitoring, design progress tracking, and client requirement documentation.
  • Interact with clients and collaborate with senior engineers, consultants, architects, project managers, and other disciplines.
  • Analyze low- to medium-complexity engineering tasks and propose practical, innovative solutions.
  • Participate in quality control, safety reviews, multidisciplinary coordination, and technology research and innovation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in electrical, electronics, computer, related engineering, information technology, computer science, or another related STEM field.
  • Knowledge of technical design methods, electrical voltage and current, digital and analog signals, and basic IT networking topologies and protocols.
  • Knowledge of design tools and concepts used to produce technical plans and specifications for building systems.
  • Basic knowledge of BIM software and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Ability to work full-time in the office in Naperville or Chicago and travel up to 50%; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

  • Internship experience in building design consulting.
  • Engineering in Training (EIT) license.
