Mechanical Engineering Intern (FEA)

Location: Syracuse-W, New York, United States

Salary: $47,243–$74,675 annually. An annual or quarterly bonus and shift premium may apply depending on assignment and location.

What you will do

• Use LabVIEW and Matlab to control test systems and collect and analyze data.
• Enhance testing through programming and implementation of new design elements.
• Create software routines for quality control and improve image-analysis techniques.
• Perform thermal finite element analyses and support other laboratory duties.

Requirements

• Enrollment in a Mechanical Engineering program.
• Completion of core Mechanical Engineering courses, Experimental Analysis, LabVIEW programming, and Matlab programming.
• Knowledge of LabVIEW, Matlab, programming, MS Office, 3D CAD, and FEA tools such as ANSYS or SolidWorks.
• Ability to work independently with good interpersonal and cooperation skills.
• Access to ITAR products and related technical data is restricted to US citizens and US permanent residents.
• Compliance with TTM export-control policies and applicable ITAR, EAR, and OFAC requirements is required.

Nice to have

• Coursework in Heat Transfer, Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Machine Design, Numerical Analysis or Finite Element Analysis, and Statics.
• Experience with SolidWorks or Inventor and programming languages such as C#, Java, SQL, or C++.
