Mechanical Engineering Intern (LabVIEW/Matlab)

Salary: $47,243–$74,675 per year, with a potential annual or quarterly bonus and possible shift premium.

What you will do

• Use LabVIEW and Matlab to control test systems and collect and analyze data.
• Enhance testing through programming and implementation of new design elements.
• Create software routines for quality control.
• Improve image-analysis techniques and perform laboratory duties.
• Perform thermal finite element analyses.

Requirements

• Enrollment in a Mechanical Engineering program is required.
• Completion of core Mechanical Engineering courses, Experimental Analysis, LabVIEW programming, and Matlab programming.
• Programming experience in C#, Java, SQL, C++, or another programming language.
• Experience with LabVIEW, Matlab, MS Office, 3D CAD such as SolidWorks or Inventor, and FEA tools such as ANSYS or SolidWorks.
• Good interpersonal and cooperation skills, with the ability to work independently.
• Must comply with US export-control, ITAR, EAR, and OFAC requirements; access to ITAR products and related technical data is restricted to US citizens and US permanent residents.

Nice to have

• Coursework in Heat Transfer, Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Machine Design, Numerical Analysis, Finite Element Analysis, or Statics.
