Senior AI Engineer (LLM)

Location: Hybrid, must be able to collaborate in-person in the Bay Area

What you will do

• Design agent architectures for planning, reasoning, tool use, and memory integration.
• Improve reliability and failure recovery for long-running, multi-step tasks.
• Build feedback loops to enable agent performance to compound over time.
• Develop rigorous evaluation systems that measure performance and resist gaming.
• Make practical tradeoffs between quality, latency, cost, and complexity.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building production ML or backend systems.
• Proven track record of taking LLM or agent applications from prototype to production.
• Strong understanding of agent design, including orchestration and memory.
• Experience with execution tracing, observability, and building rigorous evaluation systems.
• Familiarity with OpenAI Responses API, MCP, and server- versus client-side execution.
