Senior AI Engineer (MCP)

Location: San Francisco; onsite or hybrid. No fully remote option.

Salary: $200,000–$240,000 annual base salary plus equity

What you will do

• Own the MCP server and agent-to-agent interfaces for Jockey, hirify.global' multimodal agent for video and image understanding.
• Design how AI agents and external developers discover, connect to, and invoke retrieval and reasoning capabilities.
• Build authentication and access infrastructure, including OAuth, RBAC, and multi-tenant isolation.
• Develop enterprise-readiness features such as per-API-key usage tracking, rate limiting, and reliability controls.
• Partner directly with the research team to turn video and image understanding capabilities into durable product surfaces.

Requirements

• Production experience shipping agentic or LLM-powered systems with real users and failure modes.
• Understanding of retrieval, reasoning, and agent orchestration as an integrated system.
• End-to-end ownership of developer-facing or external APIs, including contracts, versioning, and developer experience.
• Production ownership of authentication and authorization using OAuth, OIDC, RBAC, or multi-tenant isolation.
• Ability to make tradeoffs across the full platform surface and build enterprise-ready systems.
• Experience working in a startup, hypergrowth company, or AI-first team with ambiguity and limited process support.

Nice to have

• Experience with MCP, A2A protocols, or the broader agent ecosystem.
• Experience at a technically excellent hypergrowth startup.
