TL;DR
Lead, Manufacturing Engineer, Integration & Test (Aerospace): Leading manufacturing engineering for flight-ready rocket mechanisms and integrated sub-assemblies with an accent on scalable production processes, tooling, work instructions, and mBOM development. Focus on resolving manufacturing challenges, coordinating design and production execution, and developing work centers for Terran R rate production.

Location: Long Beach, California, United States

Salary: $132,000–$198,000 USD annually

What you will do

  • Lead and mentor manufacturing engineers developing flight-ready mechanisms and integrated sub-assemblies.
  • Own a major mechanized assembly or integrated sub-assembly from design release through production.
  • Coordinate planning, sourcing, sequencing, mBOM development, tooling, equipment, and work order creation across design, supply chain, and production.
  • Guide workcenter development, capital investment, tooling, safety, scaling, and continuous improvement.
  • Resolve manufacturing challenges, lead root cause analysis, and implement sustainable efficiency improvements.
  • Manage team priorities, provide technical direction, and support team members’ professional development.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience and a BS degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, manufacturing engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Extensive experience authoring work instructions, mBOMs, and technical procedures for interdisciplinary mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic assemblies.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with design, manufacturing, production, and quality teams.
  • Strong understanding of mechanisms manufacturing and integrated assembly processes.
  • Experience executing projects in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Nice to have

  • Experience leading or mentoring engineering teams.
  • Experience scaling manufacturing processes from development through rate production.
  • Hands-on experience with RCCA, assembly testing, tooling design, or fabrication.
  • Experience in capacity analysis, PFMEA, value stream mapping, or workcenter and process development.
