Senior Manufacturing Engineer I - Assembly & Integration (Aerospace)

Location: Long Beach, California, United States; onsite role. For US office candidates, eligibility to access ITAR-regulated technology is required, including US citizenship, lawful permanent residence, refugee or asylee status, or eligibility to obtain the necessary authorizations.

Base pay: $115,000–$155,000 USD annually in California.

What you will do

• Prepare feasibility studies and conduct manufacturing technology research and development projects.
• Partner with design engineering to apply design-for-manufacturability principles and ensure scalable, robust products.
• Design, procure, install, validate, and optimize assembly, testing, and verification processes for factories.
• Support development builds, production ramp-up, and production-line ownership while improving yield and build efficiency.
• Diagnose failures, perform technical investigations, mitigate risks, and resolve root causes.
• Drive process improvements, change management, and business-system enhancements across manufacturing, test, and integration.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, mechatronics, computer engineering, or a similar field.
• 5+ years of technical experience in manufacturing, production, or process engineering.
• Hands-on experience solving systemic, multifaceted problems in complex manufacturing systems.
• Ability to manage multiple complex assignments autonomously and coach others across teams.
• Detailed technical knowledge of complex manufacturing processes.
• For US office work, eligibility for ITAR-related access or the required US government authorizations is necessary.

Nice to have

• Experience with environmental or production acceptance testing, including vibration, shock, thermal, and vacuum testing.
• Knowledge of instrumentation, interfaces, sensors, power supplies, oscilloscopes, serial devices, accelerometers, thermocouples, RTDs, and 4–20 mA sensors.
• Experience designing and supporting production lines or build areas and transitioning products from design to production.
• Experience with DFMEA, PFMEA, fault tree analysis, Pareto analysis, root cause analysis, and corrective action.
