Sr. Accountant/Financial Analyst (Insurance)

Location: Remote from a home office; occasional office attendance may be required for important departmental meetings or team-building events.

Salary: $70,000–$80,000 annually, with annual bonus potential based on performance.

What you will do

• Prepare in-depth financial analyses, reports, statements, and research to support management decisions.
• Analyze the financial implications of business decisions and transactions.
• Develop and manipulate complex financial models for business initiatives.
• Prepare journal entries, variance explanations, and complex general ledger and bank account reconciliations.
• Support internal and external auditors by preparing analytical schedules, responding to inquiries, and implementing recommended changes.
• Represent Finance on corporate teams and initiatives and support the design, testing, and documentation of system changes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Experience as a Financial Analyst, Accountant, or in a similar position.
• Experience preparing financial reports and analyzing and interpreting complex financial or statistical data.
• Experience using automated accounting or management reporting systems and Microsoft Office products for model development.
• Experience with high-risk account analysis, bank reconciliations, general ledger reconciliations, and balancing ledgers to supporting systems.
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), effective communication, problem-solving, independent work, and project-team participation.

Nice to have

• CPA certification or a master’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or Tax.
• Experience with automated reconciliation software, complex journal entries, or insurance accounting.
• Knowledge of AAA products and services.
