Financial Accountant (Fintech)

What you will do

• Maintain the general ledger, prepare journal entries, and produce accounting schedules and reconciliations under IFRS, ARB-FINMA, and applicable local GAAP.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings, including selected financial statement notes and responses to external auditors.
• Investigate accounting discrepancies, unusual movements, ageing items, accruals, provisions, prepayments, and other adjustments.
• Ensure appropriate accounting treatment for banking transactions and financial instruments.
• Support statutory, management, and consolidated financial reporting.
• Provide accounting guidance, contribute to accounting projects, and prepare regulatory filings for bodies such as SNB and FINMA.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent diploma in accounting, finance, or economics.
• At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, ideally within banking.
• Fluent French and English, both oral and written, required.
• Experience with IFRS and generally accepted accounting principles in Switzerland; ARB-FINMA knowledge is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of banking, financial matters, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent MS Office skills, especially Excel, with strong organisation, analytical, collaboration, and prioritisation abilities.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of PowerBI, SQL, or Python.
• Experience with Temenos T24 or OneStream.
• Knowledge of Accounting Rules for Banks (ARB-FINMA).
