What you will do

  • Produce components and assemblies for the fuel and oxidizer turbopumps of the Aeon-R and Aeon-R Vac engines.
  • Own manufacturing trades and develop processes for fabricating, testing, and delivering propulsion hardware and subassemblies.
  • Develop and refine assembly, fluids testing, machining, and additive manufacturing processes.
  • Serve as the primary interface between manufacturing and design teams during Aeon-R architecture optimization.
  • Support the scale-up of manufacturing operations for Terran R flight engines.
  • Drive projects through ambiguous and technically challenging turbomachinery and additively manufactured hardware issues.

Requirements

  • Degree in engineering or a related technical field, plus 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with turbopump assembly procedures, including rotor balancing, interference fits, clearance checks, structural proofing, and leak checks.
  • Experience with fluids testing, machining, and additive manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of general assembly and test procedures, tolerance stack-up analysis, structural proof testing, and pressurized leak checks.
  • Experience with Siemens NX or comparable CAD and analysis tools.
  • Experience designing tooling, including conceptualization, modeling, drafting, and detailed analysis.

Nice to have

  • Experience with additively manufactured engine hardware.
  • Experience with GD&T under ASME Y14.5 and industry specifications.
  • Experience in a startup or agile development environment.
  • Experience working in a flight development program.
