Mechanical Engineer II (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Hawthorne, California, United States. The role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information, so candidates must be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing.

Salary: $110,000–$155,000 per year in California.

What you will do

• Advance the E-2 engine design with the engineering team and Chief Engineer.
• Create CAD models, drawings, schematics, and process documentation for parts and assemblies.
• Support manufacturing through 3D printing, machining, post-processing, inspection, and design-for-manufacturing improvements.
• Support propulsion component assembly, integration, and testing.
• Participate in engine tests, troubleshoot issues, and communicate progress and risks to the team.
• Follow workplace safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience in mechanical design, development, fabrication, assembly, or testing, including internships.
• Experience with CAD; NX is preferred.
• Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work hands-on across engineering, manufacturing, assembly, and testing activities.
• Ability to lift 25 pounds unassisted, work outdoors in extreme weather, and work evenings or weekends when required for mission milestones.

• Experience with ANSYS.
• Experience with MATLAB.
