What you will do
- Collaborate with design teams to assess and improve the manufacturability of mechanical subassemblies.
- Develop and optimize manufacturing processes and equipment for efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality production.
- Create manufacturing plans, assembly procedures, and work instructions for consistent hardware production.
- Investigate manufacturing challenges through root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Establish quality control processes with quality assurance teams and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil, or a similar engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited institution.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T and DFM for components and subassemblies.
- Working knowledge of machining, drilling, assembly, bonding, and related manufacturing processes.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to work hands-on in a production environment.
- Must be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing under U.S. export-control requirements.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds unassisted and work overtime or weekends during critical mission milestones.
Nice to have
- Experience designing tooling or hardware with CAD software, preferably Siemens NX.
- Experience with flight hardware or safety-critical systems.
- Experience transitioning complex products from R&D to production.
- Experience addressing manufacturing non-conformances and implementing corrective actions.
- Project management experience, strong communication skills, and attention to detail.
