Engineering Director (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Vilnius or Kaunas, with the option to work from home or anywhere in the world.

Salary: From €9,000 gross per month, depending on experience and skills.

What you will do

• Lead the Shared Services / Platform area within the Product department, covering Websites, Billing, Payments, Platform, and Internal Tools.
• Hire, coach, mentor, and develop Engineering Managers and Tech Leads.
• Take direct ownership of underperforming teams and unresolved engineering problems when needed.
• Build a “you build it, you own it” culture covering coding, production operations, observability, incident response, and postmortems.
• Partner with product leaders, engineering leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders to prioritize the right problems.
• Champion AI-assisted engineering and define outcome- and impact-based measurement for platform and internal-facing teams.

Requirements

• 7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
• Experience building and owning products and services in production over the long term.
• Comfort with or strong openness to PHP, Laravel, Symfony, Python, Node, Go, and/or Vue.
• Active enthusiasm for AI-assisted engineering and the ability to drive adoption across teams.
• Ability to operate with ambiguity, changing priorities, and evolving processes, with strong stakeholder management and feedback skills.
• Excellent communication skills in English.

• Experience scaling an engineering organization from a smaller company or startup.
• Background in digital or consumer-facing B2C product companies.
