Salary: $160,000–$240,000 USD per year

What you will do

  • Manage a team of propulsion analysts responsible for liquid propellant rocket engine hardware analysis.
  • Own thermal, structural, dynamic, and durability analyses for Aeon-R engines and subsystems.
  • Analyze 3D-printed engine components, complex mechanical assemblies, and integrated engines for structural integrity.
  • Partner with mechanical design and manufacturing teams to develop and iterate engine and vehicle solutions.
  • Use analysis to guide design decisions, risk assessments, and engineering standards.
  • Sign off on flight hardware readiness and acceptability while recruiting, mentoring, and developing engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, technology, mathematics, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of relevant engineering experience, preferably with complex engineering systems.
  • Leadership experience through mentoring, managing interdisciplinary projects, continuous improvement, and hiring.
  • Experience applying engineering fundamentals in structures, fluids, and thermodynamics.
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis, Computational Fluid Dynamics, and Computer-Aided Design.

Nice to have

  • Two or more years analyzing liquid propellant rocket engine hardware or components.
  • Working knowledge of combustion devices, turbomachinery, valves, and integration hardware.
  • Familiarity with aerospace standards and industry best practices.
  • Experience with powder bed additive manufacturing.
  • Ability to deliver on ambitious schedules using unconventional and creative solutions.
